Between 25 June and 10 July 2022, Fort Ruigenhoek one of the two festival hearts of Tweetakt. A historic location where nature, theatre, dance, music and visual art come together.
At various locations on the fortress island you will find a wide range of theater and dance performances for all ages. Take a walk along various (interactive) works of art and discover all the special places in and around the fortress. Settle down on the terrace, while the youngest enjoy the ball pit and swing carousel, and listen to live music. Are you only coming for a drink on the terrace? No problem! You can visit the Fort for free, all day long.
Many of the theatre and dance performances moved with the festival to Fort Ruigenhoek. In and around the bunkers you will find all kinds of artworks made by various artists. This year, visual artists Quentley Barbara, Rudie van den Berg, Herman Lamers, Tim Wunderink, Konstantina Mavridou, Primoz Novak & Nika Oblak, Nicolas Chuard, Gijs Gieskes en Jef Van gestel will present their installations. In addition to theatre and dance performances and visual art, you can also enjoy live music in the open air at Fort Ruigenhoek. Keep an eye on our website for the announcement of all performances and shows.
Fort Ruigenhoek is located north of Overvecht. The Fort dates from 1869-1870 and is part of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie (New Dutch Water Line). Only a few times a year you can visit the Fort by appointment. During Festival Tweetakt it is open to everyone. Admission is free!
