What is it like to grow up as a boy in a time when there is so much uncertainty about the role of men? Choreographer Reut Shemesh, together with ten young people (m/f/x) aged between 15 and 21, creates a powerful dance production about masculinity, rebellion, and vulnerability. ULTRA questions the role of men in our changing times, but above all, it is a portrait of a group of teenagers in a world full of expectations and labels.

Choreographer Reut Shemesh has been a house artist at K3/Hamburg and tanzhaus nrw Düsseldorf in recent years, a theater where fABULEUS is a regular guest. For the creation of ULTRA, Reut was inspired by the dynamics of fervent football supporters and by the personal questions she asks herself as a mother of a growing son.

fABULEUS is a unique production house in Leuven, offering various forms of performing arts: performance, dance, circus, and (text) theater. The central focus is on artistic collaboration between (very) young talent and (more) experienced creators. fABULEUS provides them with the necessary support to develop their skills as actors, dancers, or creators and has an international exemplary role in this regard.
