A funny and touching autobiographical story about Iran.
Dariush Omidi grows up in Turnhout, in a family that exchanged Iran for Belgium out of necessity. Searching for what it means to be Iranian, Belgian, and above all, himself, he delivers a cutting declaration of love and hate to a place he can no longer return to. “I love (and hate) you, Iran” is a funny and poignant monologue by actor and rapper Armin Mola, partly based on his own story.
More Information about the creators
Armin recently appeared in “About Elly” by tg STAN and gained some recognition for his leading role in the popular Ketnet series “Hoodie”. He created an initial version as his graduation project at the Lemmensinstituut arts high school in Leuven and later reworked it under the guidance of fABULEUS into a full-fledged production. fABULEUS is a unique production house in Leuven with a wide range of performing arts: performance, dance, circus, and (text) theater. Central to its mission is the artistic collaboration between (very) young talent and (more) experienced creators. fABULEUS provides them with the necessary support to develop their skills as performers, dancers, or creators and serves as an international example in this regard.
