Festival Tweetakt is an annual arts festival in Utrecht for everyone, with theater, music and art by (inter)national creators.
A circus of sounds made from everyday bric-a-brac, a feast for the eyes AND ears.
Welcome to the Minitheater! Where the French musician Laurent Bigot is setting everyday objects in motion – or breathing new life into them – to make his music. Wood, rope, plastic, toys, loudspeakers, tape, wires and cables, together they form an installation of considerable size.
It quivers, moves and sparkles; dancers, trapeze-artists and acrobats appear; here comes a panda, or a stork; it rustles, howls, whistles, lights up. And then, with the help of twelve microphones, you end up with quite a composition.
Le Petit Cirque is a circus, as you would have guessed, albeit one without animals or trapezes. Failure is still a danger that lurks at every turn. Le Petit Cirque is a circus of sounds. Or a sound stage. Or a bric-a-brac musical. Or perhaps simply: a feast for the eyes and ears.
