Festival Tweetakt is an annual arts festival in Utrecht for everyone, with theater, music and art by (inter)national creators.
A performance with a thousand imaginary friends
At some day you will say goodbye to your limitless fantasy and your childhood. Nobody can escape from it: the inevitable transition from childhood to puberty. It is the moment when your imaginary friend cannot come to birthday parties with you anymore. When you remove your stuffed animals from your bed and stash them away in a box in the attic. When you forget the secret language you had with the boy next door. When you start to feel embarrassed by daydreams in which you can fly and talk to animals. But what if you cannot kill your imagination?
Maker Nastaran Razawi Khorasani about Bye Bye Baby: “In Bye Bye Baby, the character remains stuck between two worlds, between an unbridled imaginary universe and a sober down-to-earth mentality. During our pre-teen time, we set our first steps towards adulthood. We look for who we want to be later. The search begins with putting a line through who we were.”
Nastaran Razawi Khorasani has been selected for the ‘Nieuwe Makers’ arrangement from the Performing Arts Fund. In November 2017, Nastaran starts her triptych with Solo by Nas & Jim, and in June 2018, she will perform Uniform on Oerol. In February 2019, she concludes her triptych with Bye Bye Baby.
