Prace  + Chaimaa Rochdi

20:30 – 21:00 uur

After his Syrian and Iraqi adventures, the Utrecht-based Prace has delved deep into Morocco for his new project. He came across Gnawa-music, ancient African-Islamic songs and rhythms with a spiritual and religious background. Together with singer Chaimaa Rochdi, who has a Amerdam-Moroccan background, Prace made a live show that will take you on a mystique journey through the deserts and mountains of Marocco

Babylon Trio

21:45 – 22:30 uur

The three Iraqi musicians of Babylon Trio came to Belgium as political refugees a few years ago. Arkan Mushtak has been playing keyboard since he was young, Walaa Saad sings, and Saif Al-Qaissy sings, drums and plays the darbouka (an Arabic vase drum). Together they play a colorful mix of contemporary Iraqi music styles, such as chobi chobi, dabke, maqam and everything around it. In September 2018 they released their debut album ‘Habibi’. Since then they have been touring in the Netherlands, Belgium and France.

Bu Kolthoum

23:15 – 23:30 uur

The Syrian producer Mouneer Bu Kolthoum, better known as Bu Kolthoum, knew at a young age that he wanted to make music. Born in Damascus in 1991 in a musical family with a Sufi background, he was first inspired by Tarab music and other spiritual new age genres. Only recently he added hip hop and RnB, which led to new genres such as Sufi-hop. As a producer, he collaborates with artists from all over the world. He toured with Damon Albarn (from Blur) & The Orchestra of Syrian Musicians and already played at big festivals like Roskilde and Holland Festival.
