Festival Tweetakt is an annual arts festival in Utrecht for everyone, with theater, music and art by (inter)national creators.
From golden sing-alongs with a modern twist to poetry in all sorts of dialects: Festival Tweetakt presents a weekend long variety of music acts with the Dutch language as common denominator
Most will know Roos Rebergen from Roosbeef, the band with which she conquered the Netherlands at the age of 16. There were tours and there were albums. In the meantime Roos also founded the band Tjing Tjing with Andre Manuel and she did the music box project with Torre Florim from De Staat. For this, the two were inspired by conversations with intellectually disabled people, and it produced brutally honest songs. In 2016, a poetry collection by Roos was published, with the title: I have not been 16 years old for 11 years.
Now Roos is in her early thirties. Via Antwerp and Kentucky she is back in the Netherlands, with a child and many extra songs. For love, she left for the American countryside in 2016, where it was lonely, without family and friends. But what she missed most of all, was the stage. She is currently working on her fourth studio album, and she performs here and there, solo or in small occupation.
Festival Tweetakt has had performances by Roos several times. In the upcoming edition, the mix of old and new material will certainly sound special in the intimate Trekkerschuur.
