Festival Tweetakt is an annual arts festival in Utrecht for everyone, with theater, music and art by (inter)national creators.
A moving sound poem for toddlers.
Padaboempats, klabam, poink, klonk, auw.
In this virtuoso dance duet two girls keep colliding in a funny manner. They jeer, laugh, fret, play, chat, dance, frolic, fight and make up again. The friends move like a two-unit, constantly imitating each other. All together and then apart again. Inseparable and then loose again. They are reckless against each other and the world, but at sandbox level.
Charlotte Goesaert and Karolien Verlinden create a dazzling dance performance with homemade sounds, coupled with movements that vary from very soft to very wild. Joost Maaskant mixes the music and sound: from sound poems to rock opera.
Artistic leader of Maas, Moniek Merkx about ChitChat: “Their fast sound language and their equal movements are brilliant. They are masters in doing exactly the same thing and then quickly varying. With repetitive patterns and sounds they can act very funnily. While watching, you also want to dance, hop, and jump yourself.”
Maas theater and dans from Rotterdam makes performances for children, young people, young adults, their families and friends. Almost every year there is at least one performance of Maas theater and dance on Festival Tweetakt, such as Eitje (2015 and 2017), Liefde (2017), and Drie (2018). This year Bye Bye Baby and Hallo familie.
Tuning People is a self-willed Antwerp collective. Their visual sound theater for varied audiences has often been shown at Festival Tweetakt, including DaDaKaKa (2015), Bonte Nacht (2017) and Synchroon (2017). This year you can see Rita from Tuning People and BRONKS at Tweetakt.
Geef een Toegift
Last year, Geef een Toegift was launched by De Verenigde Podiumkunstenfestivals. In the whole country, festival audiences are invited to buy an entrance ticket for someone with less financial means, in order to make art and culture accessible to a wider audience. This year, Tweetakt uses Geef een Toegift for refugee families with which VluchtelingenWerk and Welkom in Utrecht have contact. Tweetakt visitors can purchase an additional family ticker for a refugee family when ordering their tickets online. These families can enjoy one of the youth performances at Festival Tweetakt.
