The Ghent-based duo Brik Tu-Tok used the lockdown to work on an EP, which ultimately grew into a full album with an accompanying short film. Come along on a surreal trip to an obscure 21st-century cabaret. The Giggle Gallery is polished, but rough around the edges. Refreshing yet nostalgic. Infectiously eclectic!
Review
“Without a doubt one of the best discoveries of the unseen stage.” – BOSfestival
“Highly visual, highly original.(…) To me, it has links with Tom Waits and Coco Rosie.” – De Zomer Van Gerrit Valckenaers, Radio 1
About the makers
Brik Tu-Tok is the daring musical exploit by theatre makers Maxim Storms and Linde Carrijn, both masters in dramatic art (KASK Gent). What started out as Dadaist prose has now come to lead a life of its own in both the theatre and the music circuits. This duo kneads together the theatrical and the musical to form a new, absurd universe in which a line-up of eccentric characters vocalise the deepest stirrings of their souls. Brik Tu-Tok combines poetry with brute force and humour.
