Virtuoso movements in an onstage version of the virtual worlds of Zelda and The Sims. Will we reach level Q?
Level Q blends together dance, theatre and circus in a surprisingly physical show with four performers who will go to the extremes. Each facing a challenge, they fall down and get back on their feet until they reach the finish line. Or fail to, only just. A voice-over provides commentary, cheers the performers on and act as video referee. Are the live gamers playing together, or each for themselves, or is there a saboteur in the game? They push each other and the audience.
About the makers
LAP vzw is the Antwerp-based dance company fronted by Dafne Maes and Danaé Bosman. They share two passions: one for contemporary dance and another for art education. Their double interest is expressed in artistic shows and projects that blur the lines between performing art and education. It allows them to introduce a range of audience groups with non-verbal body language. They take their viewers safely along on a discovery of what movement can be. In 2017 they brought the playful Choco of kaas? to Tweetakt. Level Q is their second show in which they straddle the lines between dance, theatre and circus.
