For anyone who can sometimes use a helping hand
For anyone who can sometimes use a helping hand
“Care is what makes people people. But if care is so important, why are we taking such poor care of it?”
(from CARE by Lynn Berger)
A visual, poetic performance by mime theater group Bambie, DEGASTEN and Theater LeBelle in which people from different generations ask for help and the offer of help is magnified into an absurdist phenomenon.
Help I Need Some Body is about taking care of each other and yourself.
About falling and getting up.
Carry and be carried.
Hold and release.
About the comfort of closeness and physical contact.
One screams for help. The other is invisible.
Who is the savior and who is in need?
About the creators
For more than twenty-five years Mimetheatergroep Bambie has been making witty and compelling visual theater in which the body is the mirror of the human soul. Absurdistic, even dreamy as savage and full of wonderful scenes, (slapstick) fights and magnified, recognizable feeling.
DEGASTEN makes interdisciplinary montage theater about topical subjects based on the perceptions of their players. The players are co-creators and contribute storylines that are shared to theater, intense translations.
Theater LeBelle is a theater workshop for people with a (mild) intellectual disability. Theater LeBelle works on performances, location theatre, inclusion projects, workshops and ideas for new theater and dance concepts.
